Current Volunteer Opportunities
Our volunteer programme is now open to new volunteers, and we are recruiting to fill a variety of exciting volunteer roles. They are particularly suited to volunteers who may be looking to provide a longer-term commitment, ideally a minimum of six months. You must be over 18 years of age, and acceptance is dependent on a satisfactory police check.
Visitor Experience Team
We are looking for volunteers who are reliable, flexible and able to commit to a minimum of two half-days per month, for at least a six month period. You’ll be providing visitors with a warm welcome, offering assistance as required, and delivering our programme of free mini talks. Full training will be provided. Applications close 14 August.
The role description is available here.
Thursday Perimeter Team
The Perimeter Team helps maintain the biosecurity buffer zone between the fence and vegetation. It runs from 9am to 12.30pm on Thursdays. It's a fairly physical role, so a good level of fitness is required. It's a great way to get fresh air and exercise, helping keep our sanctuary safe on the inside of the fence.
Tuesday Track Team
Our track teams help keep our tracks in good order for volunteers, staff and visitors. We have some vacancies on the Tuesday team who work from 9am to noon each week. It’s a physical role that requires good fitness. Tools and full training are provided.
Wednesday Gardening Group
Calling keen gardeners to help out on Wednesday mornings to tend particularly to the areas near the Visitors Centre and along the main trails. While we don’t expect you to be here every week, we need reliable people who can help out regularly on Wednesday mornings from 10am to 12pm. It’s a good way to enhance your plant knowledge as you work.
