An introduction to Margaret Hyland
An update from our Board Chair
I am pleased to announce that Professor Margaret Hyland, the Vice-Provost Research at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington, has joined Zealandia’s Board.
Professor Hyland brings to the Board a strong record of promoting equity, diversity and inclusion, including with Māori. Zealandia will benefit from Margaret’s governance experience in science and technology organisations, deep understanding of the research, science and innovation system and extensive national and international linkages.
Margaret is currently an independent director of Cirrus Materials Science, Deputy Chair of Wellington UniVentures, Chair of Research Trust of Victoria University of Wellington, a Director on the Crown Research Institute NIWA Board and an independent trustee of Eureka! Trust.
Margaret will add to our Board’s experience and skill in the strategy development of Zealandia in its work as a research-based organisation. Her professional background and commitment to protecting our biodiversity will be a welcome addition to our Board’s already considerable skill base.
I am sure you will join me in welcoming Margaret to this important role. If you see her around Zealandia, please do say “Hello” and introduce yourself to her.
Regards,
Phillip Meyer
