Sustainability at Rātā Café
Rātā Café has made a few changes recently to help make the café more sustainable and make it easier for our visitors to make sustainable choices.
Customers with different dietary requirements have great food options waiting at Rātā. We recently made our deep fryer gluten-free and vegan and removed the extra charge for alternative milk. As a result, we saw more people trying it out with their coffee orders!
In order to reduce our carbon footprint and the amount of food we have delivered to us from around Aotearoa New Zealand and the world, we make our burger patties in-house from local independent butchers (Gipp Street Butchers) and are also trialling growing produce on-site, such as our microgreens and edible flowers that would normally come all the way from Auckland.
